Gadhada First Chapter:-26

In the Samvat year 1876 on the eleventh day of the bright half of the month of Paush in the afternoon Shreeji Maharaj was seated on a wooden bedstead laid in the veranda in front of the hall facing the east in the Durbar of Dada Khachar in Gadhada. He had put on a white turban on His head and put white upper garment over His shoulders. He had covered His body with a large white double sheet of cotton. Two large flowers of guldavadi adorned His ears and a tassel of flowers was hanging from His turban. saints and devotees from various places had gathered before Him in an assembly. Saints were singing devotional songs with the accompaniment of musical instruments, like tal and Then Shreeji Maharaj asked the saints to stop singing and said, “Listen to me. In the Samvat year 1876, on the seventh day of the bright half of the month of Paush in the morning, Shreeji Maharaj had been to the residential place of the saints in the Durbar of Dada Khachar in Gadhada. He had put on a white upper garment over His shoulders and covered His body with a large double sheet of cotton. He had put a white headdress on His head. He was seated facing the east. Saints and devotees from various places had gathered before Him in an assembly. Then addressing the assembly mercifully Shreeji Maharaj said; ‘Though a devotee may perform his own duties perfectly, he does not experience full contentment in his heart. Full contentment is achieved by faith in one’s own self and perfect knowledge of the greatness of God. If he lacks in these two qualities, he will not experience full contentment. Hence a devotee should try to achieve these two qualities with a, firm determination. If he lacks these two qualities, there will be a proportionate failure, in his attainment of the state of trance. Shreeji Maharaj was seated on a wooden bedstead laid in the veranda in front of the hall facing the east. in the Durbar of Dada Khachar in Gadhada. He had put on a white head-dress on His head, and had covered His shoulders with a white upper garment. He had put on a red woolen jacket and had covered His body with a large white double sheet of cotton. Saints and devotees from various places had gathered before Him in an assembly. Then Shreeji Maharaj addressed the saints and said today I am going to explain to you the State of mind attained through knowledge. Knowledge is beyond Prakruti and Purush. When one acquires knowledge, one loses the consciousness of Prakruti and Purush and their creation. This is called Gnanpralaya [dissolution due to knowledge]. In the Samvat year 1856 on the fifth day of the bright half of the month of Paush, Shreeji Maharaj was seated on a wooden bedstead laid in the veranda in front of the hall facing the east in the Durbar of Dada Khachar in Gadhada. He had put a white headdress on His head. He had put on a white jacket and white trousers. He had tied a saffron colored rich garment with golden borders round His waist. Devotees of God are of two kinds. One has a firm faith in God. But his mind is attached to his physical body. Shreeji Maharaj was seated on a wooden bedstead laid in the veranda in front of the hall facing the east, in the Durbar of Dada Khachar in Gadhada. He had put on all white garments. A tassel of white flowers was hanging from His turban and bunches of flowers adorned His ears. A garland of guldavadi flowers adorned His neck. Saints and devotees from various places had gathered before Him in an assembly. Saints were singing devotional songs. Then Shreeji Maharaj said, “Listen to me. I want to tell you something today.” There upon the saints stopped singing and became anxious to hear Him. Then Shreeji Maharaj said, ‘While singing devotional songs with the accompaniment of various musical instruments like mridang, sarangi saroda, tall etc, if we forget God, our singing is as good as no singing. In the Samvat year 1876, on the first day of the bright half of the month of Paush, Shreeji Maharaj was seated in the Durbar of Dada Khachar in Gadhada in the evening. He had put on all white garments. Saints and devotees from various places had gathered before Him in an assembly. Then Shreeji Maharaj said, “In our holy fellowship devotees of God desire for their ultimate good. But it will not be sufficient for them to possess only atm-nishtha, faith in one’s own Self, born of knowledge. Such Knowledge alone will not achieve for them their ultimate good. Nor only love for God strengthened by nine kinds of devotion, nor non-attachment alone. nor even adherence to swadharm, one’s own path of duties, none of these will singly achieve the desired goal.
