In the Samvat year 1876 on. the fourteenth day of bright half of the month of Falgun. Shreeji Maharaj was seated on a wooden bedstead laid in the veranda in front of the hall facing the west in front of the temple of Shree Vasudev Narayan in the Durbar of Dada Khachar in Gadhada. He had put a white upper garment over His shoulder and covered His body with a white cotton shawl. He had wrapped a long white cotton cloth

with silken borders round His head. Sandalwood paste was applied over His forehead. Saints and devotees from various places had gathered before Him in an assembly.

Then Shreeji Maharaj invited the assembly to start questions and answers. There upon Muktanand Swami asked “Maharaj, please, tell us how we can develop extra-ordinary love for God.”

Shreeji Maharaj replied. “One should have firm faith in God. He must understand that. This is God Himself who has revealed Himself to me.’ He must be a true believer and must know the greatness and grandeur of God completely. He must know that God is the master of all His divine abodes like Brahmamahol, Golok, Shwetdweep, etc.. and He is the master of countless millions of universes, and He is the creator of everything. The devotee should know that other entities like Purush, Kal, Karm, Maya, the three attributes of Maya, the twenty four elements and other deities like Brahma are not the

creators. But God Purushottam only is the creator. He must know that God resides in the heart of every creature. Such a firm faith in God as revealed to him. with proper understanding as above is the only source of extra- ordinary love for God.”

Then again Muktanand Swami asked. “But Maharaj, what is the reason that in spite of such knowledge regarding the greatness of God such uncommon love for God does not grow?”

Shreeji Maharaj replied, “If one really knows the greatness and grandeur of God, then certainly one bears such extraordinary love for God. But he is not aware of it. Hanuman had unlimited strength in him, but he did not know till other told him about it. When Pralarnbasur carried away Baladevji, Baladevji did not know that he was powerful enough to beat the demon. But when a divine voice from the skies told Him, he

realized his strength. Similarly such a devotee does bear extraordinary love for God, but he is not aware of it.”

Then again Muktanand Swami said, “Please tell us then, Maharaj, how we can realize the real potential of our love for God.”

Shreeji Maharaj replied, ‘The real potential of such extraordinary divine love for God can be realized gradually by remaining within the holy fellowship and listening to the holy scriptures.”

Again Muktanand Swami asked. “Is it because of association that the place, times and actions turn good or bad? or is it something else?”

Shreeji Maharaj replied. “The place means a part of the earth. and the earth is the same everywhere. Times also are the same always. However evil the place, times and actions may be all of them turn auspicious if some powerful great saint makes the place his residence, and if great sinners make the place their residence even auspicious place times and action turn evil. Thus the cause of place, time and action turning good or

bad is the person himself. If the person is highly capable he will be able to influence the place, the times and actions all over the earth by his nature. If he is less capable he will be able to influence one place only. A lesser capable person will be able to influence one

village only. And a still lesser capable person will be able to influence only a neighborhood or only his own house. Thus the cause of place, or times, or actions turning good or bad is the two types of person, holy or evil.”
