In the Samvat year 1876, on the third day of the dark half of the month of Margashirsh, Shreeji Maharaj was seated in the Durbar of Dada Khachar in Gadhada. He had put on all white garments. Saints and devotees from various places had gathered before Him in an assembly.
Then starting His discourse Shreeji Maharaj said. “One whose heart is full of devotion of the Lord, always thinks that he should do whatever the Lord and His saints tell him to do. Such a devotee is said to be a brave devotee. A brave devotee will never think that he will be able to do this much only, and will not be able to do other things. To hold the divine image of God in one’s own heart requires bravery. Even after many attempts, if he is not able to fix it in his heart, he will not lose patience, but will keep up his faith in God over and over again. If vicious thoughts enter his mind while holding the image of
the Lord in his heart, and if such thoughts do not disappear inspite of being driven out, he remembers the immense greatness of God, and considers himself to be poomakam [fully
satisfied]. He tries to drive away those vicious thoughts from his heart and tries to hold the divine image of God firmly in his heart. He never loses his patience even if ten, or fifteen or twenty-five. or even one hundred years pass in doing so. He never gives up his attempts to hold the image of the Lord in his heart.
Lord Shree Krishna has said in Geeta:
[A devotee attains his ultimate destination after passing through many births. If a person continues to hold the divine image of God in his heart in this manner, he is called an ekantik bhakta, a single minded devotee.”
